Testimonial from Tom Dunn
2008-09 Bend Volunteer
My decision to commit one year of my life to service in the BVC was the best decision I ever made. I fear that it may sound trite to use the phrase “life changing”, but there is no better way to put it. In one short year with the BVC, the Lord provided me with countless blessings. I had the opportunity to work on the front lines with the poor and marginalized of Central Oregon, and through this, I made some deep friendships with those I served, and with my volunteer community. On top of that, I got to live in arguably the most beautiful cities in the U.S. The BVC is a well-organized program run by some of the most devoted, caring people I know. A prospective volunteer can be assured that this is a program is benefiting those who need its help, and changing the hearts of its volunteers in the meantime. I thank God for my time with the BVC.
Testimonial from Molly O'Neil 2008-09 Bend Volunteer My year of service taught me several things not only about myself, but about how important it is to give back to your community. BVC helped me realize that the little things in life can make the biggest difference. It has guided me on a path that I continue to help out those in need and have developed a strong passion for assisting to the needs of the less fortunate. My year of service helped me appreciate the blessings in my life as well as opened my eyes to new opportunities and to accept that God has a plan for me. I will forever be grateful for the experience that I had while being a Bend volunteer.
